VS DAMASHII, Aiba's new show which succeeds VS ARASHI, revealed its regular cast in its first episode today!



The star studded cast includes vice captain Kazama Shunsuke, Johnny's WEST's Fujii Ryusei, Sexy Zone's Sato Shori, King & Prince's Kishi Yuta and Bishonen's Ukisho Hidaka. Kazama, who was unfortunately diagnosed with COVID-19 in December, was absent from the filming and joined via telephone call.

AIBA MASAKI

We have various new games, and more than anything, I’m really looking forward to how my fresh juniors and fellow members will perform in the show! I have nothing but high expectations! We’ll level up on our teamwork and do our best to make this show a great one.

KAZAMA SHUNSUKE

When I first heard that I was going to be a regular on VS DAMASHII, I thought it was a joke or something. The other members had a grand outdoor shoot before they were informed of the news, but for me, Aiba-chan just casually came by and with a few words, “I’m counting on you to be a regular for VS DAMASHII.” And he was gone like the wind. It left me thinking, “Was all that just a dream?”

However, it wasn’t a dream. Although 24 years have passed since I met Aiba-chan, it’s a dream that the day has come where I’m able to work with him in a regular show. Hmm? So it is a dream after all, you say? (laughs) To be able to mutually encourage and create a show with my dear friend Aiba-chan, it feels like all the hard work I’ve put in so far has paid off. If I had to raise one point of concern, I have to be careful not to just joke around with Aiba-chan like I normally do. We definitely want to make it a program which the viewers can enjoy.

I rarely get to appear in music shows so I don’t have many opportunities to meet with my kouhai from Johnny’s. That’s why it’s also refreshing to meet them every week. Team VS DAMASHII is made of a combination of Johnny’s senpai and kouhai. With me in the mix, it might feel strange, but it would be nice if it added an interesting element (to the dynamics). To our viewers, I’m fully committed to making it a fun and spirited program that will cheer you up, so I look forward to the days where I can join the studio recording. Please favor “VS DAMASHII” from now on.

SATO SHORI

It’s my first time being a regular by myself on a variety show, and I’m probably the most shocked out of the 5 regular members. (laughs) It honestly felt like I was in a dream as I stood in the studio as a regular, to the point where I still can’t quite believe it!

FUJII RYUSEI

“I get to work on a show together with Aiba-kun! What’s more, as a regular!” The joy from that was pretty huge.  When I saw the final episode of “VS ARASHI”, it started to feel real, that I was going to be a regular on a show which succeeded such an epic program. When I saw Aiba-kun cry, it made me think, “I’m gonna do my best!” With the 6 of us, I hope we can create a show that will be part of everyone’s daily lives!

KISHI YUTA

I had the honor to become a member on my first regular variety show, so I hope to become someone who can properly hype up VS DAMASHII, and also strengthen the bond with my fellow team members.

UKISHO HIDAKA

I was so shocked when I heard I was going to be a regular, honestly it felt like my mind just blanked out. However, in a way, I feel like I am representing Johnny’s Junior on the show, so I hope to show Johnny’s cheerfulness and hype up the show with my youth by freshly sparkling .
