In case you haven't already seen me tweeting about them, Naniwa Danshi is the latest group to debut from J&A! Here's a translation of "Time View", which is a song written by one of their members, Michieda Shunsuke. You can listen to the song on YouTube here or watch the performance on Bilibili here.

The melody was composed by Kawaguchi Susumu, who has writing credits on Arashi's "Starlight Kiss", "Hit the floor" and "Sounds of Joy".

Here's what Michieda had to say about the song:

This song represents time, with “time” and “view” as its theme.

When I thought about what catches up with us even though we may not like it, it was "time" and "view".

Time is chasing after all of us, and it’s constantly moving in the daily scenes that we see. The view doesn’t just represent a pretty night scenery, nor the glow of pen lights, the ordinary conversations with our friends are a kind of scenery too.

Amidst all that, I thought about our experiences and many other things, and penned those feelings into this song during the pandemic lockdown.

How long have we harboured this dream?

Even when we recalled how we thought

It couldn’t come true, we pretended to ignore it
