Back with more Otonoha! Sho talks about Jun's drama, Smile, in this entry.

Hello.
The Sakurai family gathered together to watch episode 9 of Smile. When Hana-chan spoke for the first time*, we went, “EEH~!” and jumped to our feet, as witnessed by the eldest son, Kamiyama**.
Why, that was truly a unifying moment.
The Sakurai family. We’re good drama viewers.
Please treat us kindly.
Well, now.
We finally wrapped up the filming for “The Quiz Show”.
The crank up was before ZERO.
Some of you may have noticed, during ZERO,
Sakurai’s eyes were like this --> “3 3”
I wonder why~
I wonder why~
I wonder why, why, why~
The last scene we shot was the climax of the quiz. Since it was scene where Kamiyama and Honma’s feelings were continuously connected, we ran through 20 pages of the script after we were summoned.
I cried a ton of tears.
It’s probably the first time I cried this much since I became an adult.
Because we wrapped up the filming right after that scene, I was in a momentary daze, feeling accomplished and tired from all that crying. Everything was Hocus Pocus*** to me.
The year 2009.
From Yatterman’s release to the Quiz Show, it was a series of tumultuous days.
Right now, it feels like I’m taking a break halfway up the mountain.
I think the people who have been supporting us might feel the same way, as presumptuous as that might sound.
Thank you.
You’ve worked hard, everyone.
Although we can’t stop right now.
Let’s take a breather, shall we?
20 June 2009
Sakurai Sho
P.S.
The young Kamiyama.
Perhaps there are some of you who’ve noticed…
It was Ryunnosuke-kun, who shot Wink Up together with me. These miracles do exist, don’t they?
Translator’s notes:
* Sho is referring to the court scene where Aragaki Yui’s character in Smile, Hana, first spoke to defend Jun’s character, Vito.
** Sho’s NTV drama, “The Quiz Show”, was airing during the same season as Jun’s TBS drama, “Smile”. Sho plays the titular character, Kamiyama Satoru.
*** The term, “Hocus Pocus”, is a spell used in the game, Dragon Quest. It causes completely random effects, some of which benefit the party and other cause catastrophe. In Arashi’s context, it refers to a situation where one cannot predict what will happen next.
