In an unexpected move, Jun saw the fan letter which was addressed to Arashi and wrote a brief but sweet reply through his JWeb blog.
I've translated the excerpt below.

This morning, when I was browsing through Twitter, I saw a certain tweet.
If we exclude Waku Waku Gakkou, we generally don’t retweet posts from the fans.
That is because while (our retweet) would make someone happy, at the same time, it could also make someone else feel sad.
That’s why we don’t plan to do any such thing from now on.
However, when I saw that tweet this morning, I just wanted to respond through this blog, so kindly allow me to do so. I don’t think anyone would be saddened by this.
I hope my fans would understand!
Although it took half a month, I finally read your letter! You managed to deliver your message! Thank you! I’ve received your feelings.
I was a wreck since this morning. (laughs)
And I felt so much warmth.
What a wonderful family, mother and son.
Matsumoto Jun”
Just like this, everyone’s feelings, fan letters (of course), messages on social media, et cetera, they all reach us.
Of course I know that you all have recently been requesting MTV to play Arashi!
I feel like you all are the wind beneath our wings.
In order for every one of you to have fun, we are now rehearsing and having meetings for Arafes.
I promise you’re going to have a great time!!
Please look forward to it.
It’s a long post, but I wanted to talk about a number of things.
Heading back into meetings now~
