The people at CUT besiege Jun with a myriad of questions. Read on as Jun talks about the meaning behind his name, his values in life and his favorite phrase.

Q1: What’s the meaning behind the name, Jun (潤)?

Someone with charm (潤い). They wanted me to become someone who’d enrich and bring warmth into other people’s lives.

T/N: The word uruoi 潤い which forms the kanji for Jun’s name, can mean richness, warmth, charm or enrichment.

Q2: What’s your oldest memory?

Waking up to go to nursery school. After switching on the heater, I’d put on some television games.

Q3: What was your nickname as a kid?

In elementary school, it was “Matsu”.

Q4: What do people often say to you regarding their first impression of you?

“You’re surprisingly not as striking* as I thought you’d be.”

T/N: The word koi 濃い here indicates a strong or striking look, which Jun does seem to have on TV.

Q5: What’s your favorite and most hated subject in elementary school?

My favorite subject: History

My most hated subject: Science

Q6: What were you scared of as a kid?

Bugs.

Q7: When were you the most rebellious?

When I was 18.

Q8: What’s the one game which you’d definitely win?

Grand Millionaire.

Q9: What determines whether you can become friends with someone?

Whether the person is truthful.

Q10: Who’s your idol or hero when you were younger?

Turboranger, Hikaru Genji and Furuta Atsuya.

Q11: What about you has changed the most ever since you were a child?

My worldview.

Q12: What was the first big purchase that you made?

A watch.

Q13: When was the last time you cried?

Yesterday.

I think I’ll be doing something in showbiz.

Q17: When was the first time you acted?

During the arts festival in nursery school.

Q18: What was the hardest role you’ve taken on so far?

I’m only thinking about my next project.

Q19: What’s the most impressionable thing a director has ever told you so far?

I think I will receive many [impressionable] words from now on.

The fact that time doesn’t stop moving.

My feelings.

When my heart becomes faint.

I wonder what it is… I’ll think about it.

I sleep.

“Thank you”, stuff like that.

“Strength”.

Q30: What’s the one thing that you don’t want to lose until you die?

The desire to enjoy life.
